Rumpletron
Great party, [info]mr_orgue!

Some highlights were (in no particular order) :

  • The Rumpletron!
  • Finding out the host was someone I knew from TNC
  • Meeting up with Keane and partner just back from Singapore
  • Dancing for hours with a friendly lady I don't know
  • Being pretentious ( I believe Norm got a pictiure)
  • Random kisses from drunk girls
  • Mad dancing from Dancing Ono
  • meeting [info]repton_infinity IRL
  • [info]bekitty's light-sabre battles
The only downer was my third son doing his normal pass out and puke trick, meaning I had to hang around at the end and look after him and call up my ex to come and pick him up. That boy needs some self-control!

By Sunday night and this morning all those muscles one doesn't use when not dancing were sore. Got a good workout though, I wore my dancing shoes as requested, but being an old punk, my dancing shoes are combat boots! It was good that there was a little combat rock played, even if it was just the top ten one.

Crazy singing and air guitar to various hair rock bands and GnR was fun!

The dancing was good , I need a workout like that every now and then, and I usually can't be bothered just exercising. I should do it more often!

What's combat rock when it's at home?

Combat Rock by The Clash.

DJ only played Rock the Casbah.

Woulda been nice to have a few more stomnpy tunes, still any is better than none.

Finding out the host was someone I knew from TNC

I thought he looked familar, but couldn't place him.

Mad dancing from Dancing Ono

That was awesome. I liked the dance routine me and dancing Lisa had going. It really was quite cool that I knew one of the other "dancing"'s, and that he is an energentic/ no shame type. That probably made my night. :D

Had you not met John before? How...odd.

I think we need more parties with dancing in Wellington.

"I think we need more parties with dancing in Wellington."

Hell yes.

The secret of the rumpus is that everything - the rumpletron, the marketing, the colours, the nametags - *everything* was designed to get a good dancefloor going. A good dancefloor is the beating heart of a party.

The free beer didn't hurt either. :D

Paula's flat plans to have another party with dancing at some stage. Dunno if they'll run to free beer, though!

Well - the free beer is optional, and mostly unexpected. :D

I can't really have large parties myself...my house is too small for a dancefloor.

Hmmm, what would have been more conducive to me dancing was a few recent beats.

I guess I have to put up with what I get when I hang with a mostly older crew. But the musical choice was appropriate to the Rumpus, just not to Nick! ;p

The music early in the evening was recentish - but noone was dancing to it, and most of the potential dancers were asking for 80's music. :D

Well, all the dancing pretty much stopped after the first house track that was put on by the second DJ. :)

Hmmm, I was thinking poppy/hippty-hoppty stuff, or IMO the best track ever to get people on the dance floor 'Lets get retarded' by the Black Eyed Peas.

Not a critique, or even something that I would have changed on the night, just saying that it wasn't conducive for *me* dancing. Plus I was pretty occupied without doing any dancing :) It's all about me!
